How I Created a Blog Upload Template with ChatGPT (And You Can Too)

🧠 Why I Needed a Blog Upload Template

Let’s be real: blogging is a great marketing tool… until you sit down and think, “Wait, what size image do I need again? Where do tags go? Did I forget SEO?”

I knew I needed a repeatable checklist to make blog uploading less chaotic—and who better to help me build it than my trusty sidekick, ChatGPT?

Here’s how I did it, step by step. (Bonus: You can download the same checklist below!)

🛠️ Step 1: Tell ChatGPT What You Need

I started with a clear prompt:

“Create a checklist I can use when uploading blog posts to Squarespace. Include SEO, content structure, and image formatting.”

The result? A super tidy list broken into 5 parts:

  • Post Basics

  • Body Content

  • Tools + Visuals

  • Wrap-Up + CTA

  • SEO & Tags

✅ Step 2: Turn It Into a Downloadable Doc

Once I had the list, I asked ChatGPT to turn it into a downloadable Word checklist, with tick boxes for each item.

Now every time I write a blog, I just open the doc, tick it off, and upload without second-guessing.

🎨 Step 3: Design a Blog Header in Canva

To go with the post, I created a matching Canva banner using my brand colours and tone. Bonus points if it makes your blog feel like a series—not a one-off.

Use this prompt:

“Create a blog header that matches the theme ‘easy blogging for small business’. Use soft colours, flat icons, and friendly fonts.”

📈 Step 4: Reuse It Like a Pro

Now I use the same template for every post:

  • Drop in my title

  • Write the intro using the formula

  • Follow the checklist

  • Hit publish and move on

It’s saved me hours—and the mental drama of wondering “Did I forget something?”
